Paul H. Sweeney

Paul H. Sweeney obtained his B.A. from Amherst College in Amherst, Massachusetts, and his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C.

Mr. Sweeney served as a Deputy Attorney General for the State of California.  He also served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the federal Central District of California, based in Los Angeles, where he prosecuted federal criminal offenses for the United States government. In that capacity he investigated and prosecuted for the Department of the Treasury and Internal Revenue Service tax matters in United States District Court and before the federal Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Mr. Sweeney established his private law practice in Westwood, Los Angeles, in 1973.

Martindale-Hubbell, a company that impartially rates attorneys nationwide, rates Mr. Sweeney “A” for skill and ability and “V” for very high ethics, the highest ratings available.  Martindale-Hubbell defines AV as meaning that the attorney in question is "one of relatively few who have reached the height of professional excellence and have the highest levels of skill and integrity."  Relatively few attorneys attain an AV rating.
